Audio : Interface Modules  Back to Audio Main

Interface Module Note:

When installing an aftermarket in-dash CD player or GPS navigation radio some vehicle models REQIURE INTERFACE MODULES to maintain full functionallity of the vehicles original factory options and features. Examples would be steering wheel mounted radio controls, premium sound systems (BOSE, JBL, Rockford, Infinity, Monsoon, etc.), Sync, OnStar, CAN-Bus systems, LAN systems, door chimes, audible turn signal indicators and reverse sensing systems. Depending on vehicle model one or more of these modules may be required to complete the installation of the aftermarket in-dash CD player or GPS navigation radio.

Required when Installing Aftermarket Radio into Toyota Vehicles equipped with JBL Audio

The TYTO-01 interface is designed to allow the user to replace the OEM radio with an aftermarket unit in select 2005-2008 Toyota vehicles and retain the use of the JBL and JBL Synthesis amplified audio systems.

Interface Module
The OEM-1 makes it easy to upgrade a factory ' premium' system, such as a GM Delco/ Bose® or a Ford/JBL. Whether replacing the factory radio or amplifier, the OEM-1 is the solution. The OEM-1 provides a 4 channel RCA output when adding an additional amplifier.

Interface Module
The OEM-2 is the one-piece solution for replacing the radio or adding an amplifier to any factory system. By isolating the system, providing a 4 channel signal level converter, an internal remote trigger and a common ground speaker conversion circuit, the OEM-2 is truly a multi-problem solution.

• Adjusts up to 4 channels of signal input from 2 to 60 watts
• The OEM-2 transformer isolates the input and output circuits, blocking DC noise and preventing snap, crackles and pops typical in other products.
• Sealed potentiometers prevent circuit-induced distortion and signal drift.
• Allows for conversion of floating ground head units to match common ground speakers systems.
• Provides an internal trigger to turn on a 2 amp/12 volt power line with a 1second delay for an amplifier or power antenna.
• Deliver linear frequency response /-0.5 dB from 20 to 20,000 Hz, for unparalleled sound quality.

Note: The difference between the OEM-1 and OEM-2 is that the OEM-2 has bare wires and the OEM-1 uses specific plugs that plug into a vehicle.

Interface Module
C2R-FRD1 is a required installation accessory for select 2005+ Ford / Lincoln / Mercury vehicles with MSCAN databus radios. Using this interface will enable factory features such as rear seat entertainment (RSE), rear seat controls (RSC) and the THXII amplifier when the original radio is removed. The supplied installation also makes use of the facotory AUX input jack (if available).
